If ever a slot was going to pay out a life changing amount of money, this is the one. Aptly known as “the new Danger” upon release, Lil’ Devil grew in popularity, and it grew fast. With 4096 ways to win, wild reels with multipliers as high as x144 combined, a progressive bonus, a choice of bonus and a max win of 100,000x bet (and that’s just what we’ve seen so far) it’s no wonder gamblers around the world have fallen in love with this slot.

Paytable

The pay table is pretty straightforward, but with 4096 ways to win we can’t cover every possible combination of wins here. What we do know, however, is that Lil’ Devil has paid some of the highest base game wins we’ve seen posted on social media. As for the standard pays, 9s and 10s pay 0.4x bet and 0.5x bet respectively for six of a kind. J&Q and K&A pay 0.6x bet and 1x bet respectively, also for six of a kind. There are 4 premium symbols: the alligator and chameleon each pay 1.5x bet for six of a kind, the scorpion pays 5x bet for six of a kind, and the purple heart pays 10x bet for six of a kind. Of course the Angel Wild can appear on reels 3 and 4, with multipliers between x4 and x12. Two Angel Wilds can appear together for a combined multiplier up to x144, which is how most of those incredible base wins have happened.

Gameplay

Lil’ Devil has a progressive bonus, which seems to be the reason it is such a popular slot. Each time you get two scatter symbols you gain one heart on the counter that is at each side of the slot (20 hearts on each side) and once you collect 40 hearts in total you unlock the Heartstopper Feature. Some people believe that because of this it is harder to get a regular bonus on Lil’ Devil and some people believe that it’s no different to any other slot – we’ll leave it up to you to decide your thoughts on that.

Bonus

Three scatters trigger a bonus on Lil’ Devil, and there are two bonus options, which are very similar to what we know and love from Danger High Voltage, one of Big Time Gaming’s most popular slots. Be My Angel Free Spins award 7 free spins, with one symbol revealed as a sticky wild between reels 2-5. Four sticky wilds on either reel 3 or 4 converts to an Angel Wild, which starts with a x4 multiplier, building by 2 each spin to a maximum of x12. Again, much like the base game, you can have an Angel Wild on both reels giving a potential total multiplier of x144. Four sticky wilds on any of reels 2-5 also awards 3 extra free spins. Dynamite Lover awards 12 free spins. A Dynamite Wild appears on reels 3 and/or 4, and starts at a multiplier of x1, increasing by one every time any Dynamite Wild is part of a reaction. Unlike the base game, winning symbols are removed and replaced by symbols from above. 3 scatters awards 6 extra free spins, and additional scatters award 6 extra free spins each.

Heartstopper features are officially known as Heartstopper Enhanced Free Spins, and they do just that. They enhance your position in whichever bonus you choose, giving you a better chance of hitting one of those massive wins you’ve seen online. If you choose Be My Angel Free Spins, the purple heart becomes an additional sticky wild, and if you choose Dynamite Lover Free Spins the Dynamite Wild multiplier starts at x5.

There is no set cost for building 40 hearts for a Heartstopper Enhanced Feature, but on average the cost is usually around 100-150x bet, and usually takes around 1 hour, or slightly longer. It is certainly a grind!

My Thoughts

Lil’ Devil is certainly an interesting concept, but it isn’t one that I love. There’s nothing more frustrating than spending time and money building a Heartstopper Feature only for it to pay a measly 20x, and this happens a lot on this slot – the return for investment isn’t great. This is of course how we’ve been able to watch videos of 50,000x bet wins or even 100,000x bet wins, but be aware – those wins are rare. The approach of feeling as though you’re building towards a bonus is certainly an interesting one though, and it’s exciting to watch the hearts close in on 40. Although those massive wins aren’t common, when they do happen they truly are incredible so no matter whether we love or hate this game we can’t deny it… Lil’ Devil has the potential to be one of the most exciting slots out there.
