About The Game
Ted is back, and he’s better than ever. Back in 2017, Blueprint Gaming brought us Ted, a 5×3 reel slot with six base game features and five different bonuses. The original Ted was packed full of everything we love – innuendos, humour, gambles, and plenty of decent sized wins, and very quickly rose to become one of the most requested Blueprint Slots. This year, Ted is moving into Megaways, combining one of our favourite slots with one of our favourite pieces of slot innovation, pioneered by Big Time Gaming. Ted is, of course, based upon the 2012 comedy written by Seth MacFarlane. If you know Seth MacFarlane, you’ll know that most of what he touches sits right on the line, and this carried into Ted by Blueprint Gaming so well. We had bong symbols on the reels, burps, farts, and plenty of sound bites from the most inappropriate teddy bear to ever exist. Ted Megaways hasn’t let up, and we’ll still see and hear plenty of references to his party lifestyle throughout. A max of 117,649 ways, a mystery Ted feature, and the potential to win 50,000x your bet means I already love Ted Megaways.
The pay table on Ted Megaways is pretty similar to Ted. We have 9, 10, J, Q, K and A as the low paying symbols. Beer Bottles, Ducks, Tami-Lynn and the Ted Logo make up the Premium symbols. The Ted Logo is the highest paying symbol, paying for 2 of a kind, up to 50x your bet for 6 of a kind. Ted is the wild, appearing across the top reel, and substitutes for all symbols except the mystery symbol and scatter.
Many of the features we know and love from the original Ted Slot have not carried over into Ted Megaways. The only base features during this slot are Cascades, which are now almost expected from every Megaways slot, and Mystery Symbols. When Ted’s Mystery Symbols are activated Ted will zap the reels, adding up to 100 mystery lightning symbols. Mystery Symbols can be any symbol except the Scatter symbol. The Ted Mystery Symbols can also activate during the Thunder Buddies Bonus, and with large amount of Megaways and an impressive Multiplier it’s easy to see how this slot could pay out some massive wins.
Four or more scatters in view awards the Thunder Buddies Bonus. This bonus is reminiscent of the bonus in Return of Kong Megaways, which makes sense since Blueprint have stated that the are in the same slot family. The goal is to collect Ted Symbols to upgrade the minimum number of Megaways, and add extra free spins. You can either collect the 12 free spins you will be awarded, or risk it and spin the Thunder Wheel, to potentially win more free spins and start your bonus on a higher number of minimum Megaways. You can also be awarded less than 12 free spins, so it’s definitely a gamble.
Throughout the bonus, the multiplier increases with every cascade by x1. The smallest minimum amount of Megaways is 1,000, and this builds up to the maximum of 117,649. Each time you collect 3 Ted Symbols, you climb higher on this ladder, and gain an extra 2 free spins. If you reach the 117,649 Megaways mark, you are guaranteed a minimum of 2 spins with these Megaways. It is a nice feature to be able to see the next stages of the Megaways climb on the side of the screen – something Return of Kong is missing.
A bonus buy does exist on this slot for players outside of the UK, and costs 150x your bet.
It may seem slightly tamer in comparison to Ted, but Ted Megaways definitely packs a punch. Some features from before may be missing, but we’re all about quality over quantity. This slot is all about the bonus, and hitting the maximum Megaways with a hefty multiplier seems like it will have the potential to pay out some whopping amounts!
