  6. It’s Safer Gambling Week this week, which is an initiative to promote safer gambling in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Running from 1-7 November 21, Safer Gambling Week aims to start a conversation and encourage players to know how to gamble safely, the tools available to assist this and the resources available should they require help. Gambling is a form of entertainment that you pay for. This means that you are handing over money for something which should be fun, and which will last for a finite length of time - like buying a cinema ticket. You've probably heard the phrase 'When the Fun Stops, Stop', but you might not know a new campaign has replaced this - Take Time to Think. After public evaluations were carried out, 'Take Time to Think' was chosen as it is 'simple, not negatively framed, thought-provoking, easily actionable, memorable, better promoted self-reflection and therefore likely to have a broader appeal to players of all types'. It encourages players to pause, and consider the safer gambling tools available. To find out more about the Safer Gambling initiative, click here. Gambling Help Lines In GB call 0808 8020 133 Free call In IRL call 1800 936 725 Freephone In NI call 08000 886 725 Freephone Safer Gambling Tools Any UKGC Licensed Casino will offer tools to help you stay in control of your gambling, starting with Deposit Limits. You can set deposit limits daily, weekly or monthly, and can decrease this limit at any time if you feel you’re spending too much. A decrease in the amount you’ll be able to deposit will be applied instantly, and should you wish to raise this limit or remove it a waiting time of 24+ hours will apply. Alongside Deposit Limits, players can make use of the following options: Loss Limits: Implementing a loss limit will not affect the amount a player is able to deposit, but will disable play once a certain amount has been lost. Loss Limits are complex and well-designed, so any free games will still work when the Loss Limit has been reached, and any money won will then be added, so your limit will move up and down as you gamble, only stopping play once you have lost the maximum amount you are prepared to lose. Loss Limits can be applied daily, weekly, or monthly. Time Outs: If you feel you are spending too much time gambling and you want to take a break, you can apply a cool-off limit to your account, usually for any amount of time between 24 hours and 6 weeks. During this time you will not be able to deposit, or play on your account, and you may not be able to log in either. Time Limits: Players can set a time limit to ensure they do not spend too much time gambling. Once the time limit has been reached play will be disabled until the limit resets. Time Limits can be set daily, weekly, or monthly. Reality Checks: On many casinos this cannot be removed, but can only be altered in how often it shows. A reality check will pop up onto your screen every x-minutes to tell you how long you have been gambling, and how much money you have wagered, won or lost. Perhaps one of the most useful tools to remind us exactly how we are doing. Self Exclusion: Should your gambling feel out of your control, or you'd just like to stop, you can Self-Exclude from any UKGC Licensed Casino, for a period of 6 months-5 years. When a Self Exclusion is in place you will not be able to log in, create an account, deposit or play. Self Exclusions will usually apply across an entire brand, so if you are Self Excluded from one site, you will be too from any sister sites. GAMSTOP Alongside each of the tools Casinos offer, in the UK we have GAMSTOP, an online self exclusion scheme that lets you put controls in place to restrict your online gambling activities. For players within the United Kingdom, GAMSTOP is one of the most useful outlets, allowing any players to self exclude for a period of up to 5 years. By using the GAMSTOP service, players will not be able to log into any of their online accounts, and will not be permitted to open any new accounts, as it is compulsory for Casinos regulated by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission to be part of the GAMSTOP Self Exclusion Scheme. It is free to register on GAMSTOP no matter how long the period of self exclusion you choose is. Further Support is available for free, including a list of useful resources. At the end of the self exclusion period, players can extend their exclusion, and this is also at no cost. Further Tools GAMSTOP are part of the TalkBanStop campaign, which brings together free help and practical tools to those struggling with online gambling. TalkBanStop promotes the use of GAMSTOP alongside GamBan device blocking software, and bank transactional blocks together with accessing help and support via the National Gambling Helpline. You can install GamBan, which is gambling-specific blocking software for phones, tablets and computers for free by contacting the National Gambling Helpline. For players outside of the United Kingdom, GamBan ranges between £2.08 per month on a yearly plan, to £2.49 for one month. Make sure to delete any gambling related apps from your devices, and unsubscribe from any emails. You can also unfollow any social media pages, and make the transition easier on yourself. You can install software to block gambling websites and gambling related advertisements. Visit BeGambleAware.org for more information. You can also contact your bank, and they will be happy to help. Most banks now offer the option to switch off Gambling Transactions on your debit card. A list of these banks, deactivation times, and where you can visit to block the transactions are available on GamCare.org.uk. Finally, there are ways to self-exclude yourself from these types of gambling too: Casinos – visit SENSE Arcades – visit Bacta Bingo – visit The Bingo Association Betting Shops and Bookmakers – visit Self-Exclusion.co.uk Understanding Gambling We believe one of the best ways to remain safe is to understand what you're doing, and to know the facts. We have a few different articles on the site to explain what many struggle to comprehend in relation to gambling: Debunking Slot Myths: Streaks Debunking Slot Myths: Stakes Gambling: What You Should Know Honesty Should Be The Only Policy Slots, Jackpots, Volatility and RTP: Explained More Information on GAMSTOP Are Jackpot Slots Worth the Risk? 10. We have had jokes and I’m fairly laid back about most of what goes on in the chat so don’t think I’m personally attacking you or anything like that @OLDFARTGAMBLER. More often than not it’s the fallout from a situation causes more disruption than the situation itself which is where I normally have to start to care or else people complain. Like I said, you’re free to stick around - just be mindful of being disruptive. Sometimes the best conversations are the more pointless ones, I don’t think people really want deep discussions during a live stream, and it’s better to keep things fairly light hearted.
  11. Scott truthfully I’m just beyond sick of the chat in general, and I know Will feels the same. This is an 18+ stream, and it’s supposed to be a group of adults. Quite frankly some nights it feels like a chat full of children, and it’s usually the result of a few people. You are one of them. All due respect, no one cares about your opinion to the extent that you choose to share it. I see you in the stream every week trying to start arguments, or sharing opinions that you know most people will not agree with, and you will share them repeatedly until you get a reaction. Along with this you consistently butt into other people’s conversations trying to tell them how they should conduct themselves, and you are clearly very sensitive - which is fine, but you should understand not everyone is like you and respect the boundaries of conversations that don’t involve you. An obvious example would be tonight when you accused people in the chat of ‘attacking’ someone, because they disagreed. If you aren’t prepared to have an opinion disagreed with, you shouldn’t share it. It’s really draining and becoming tedious to deal with. You're free to stay in the chat and you’re free to engage with whoever you want but if you continue to try and goad people into an argument and spend 99% of your time disagreeing with people to get a reaction you will just be removed, along with anyone else exhibiting the same behaviour - it’s become too frequent to have nights like tonight and it’s not fair on the people that do watch and engage to have fun and switch off from the annoyances of daily life. They don’t deserve to then deal with annoyances from people they don’t even know. As for your repeated comments about moderators being unkind or anything else you’ve said tonight or recently - there’s a lot you don’t see. Tonight the moderators timed someone out who was being rude, and you didn’t see why because the comment was held for approval based on the words within it, meaning you never saw it. You then sat agreeing with people who claimed that person deserved an apology. It really isn’t that serious. It’s a live stream chat. A moderator isn’t a paying job. It’s just people who are able to make it for most of the streams and who understand what’s acceptable and what’s not. They don’t enjoy timing people out, especially not when they get abuse after - which in and of itself is absurd. It doesn’t need to become a huge discussion every week just because someone’s name is highlighted in blue - they don’t get a job evaluation done. If you’ve got a serious problem with a moderator, email Will and I’m sure if it is a problem he will handle it. Everyone who watches the live streams does it for fun. If you want to have arguments, disagreements, character assassination or poignant discussions bring it to the forum, where we also have private messaging available. Leave it out of the streams where 1,000+ people also have to read it. If you’ve got any problems with my response tonight you’re free to email [email protected] or message @Hideous on here.
  12. That’s huge - congrats! Hope you spend it on something nice 🙂

  14. Hi everyone! If you didn't already know, Big Time Gaming are celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year. As part of this anniversary celebration, they are giving away €100,000, with €10,000 given away each month to one lucky player. Our forum will be hosting the giveaway in November, which means one of you will win €10,000! Over the four weeks there will be four BTG games that will qualify players for entry - one game per week. We'll be posting the new game each week on this forum, in the thread below. To enter the giveaway you must play the chosen game each week and upload a screenshot of a win. At the end of the four weeks, the player with the highest combined win multiplier/x win will win €10,000. You can play with any stake you like - we will look at the highest combined win multiplier to choose the winner. Feature Buys, if available in your region, will not count, to level the playing field for UK players. Full T&Cs below. Week 1 is here, and the game is STAR CLUSTERS! You should upload your entry in this thread below, along with the following details: Name Location X Win Screenshot Image with Date/Timestamp Casino Entry for each week will close at midnight on Sundays, with the next week opening at Monday 9am GMT when the next game is announced in this thread. Remember, you have to enter every week to qualify. You MUST enter through this thread. Entries attempted to be placed elsewhere will not be counted. If you are not aware of what x win/win multiplier means, it is the amount times your stake you have won - if you are playing on £1 stake and you win £100, you have won 100x. To find out your x win divide the amount you have won by your stake. X wins will be calculated to 2 decimal places for the purpose of this giveaway. We'll be posting the new game each Monday at 9am GMT, but you can also visit the Competition Blog, or check Big Time Gaming out on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter - where they're giving away €250 each week too! 18+.
