It’s always quite difficult to describe the graphics on a Relax Gaming release, because it seems they’re so distinctly ‘Relax’, but they don’t quite fit into one category. Mega Mine is no different, with half realistic, half cartoon graphics landing us somewhere at the edge of a beautiful mountain, with clear blue skies and a water wheel in view. With 5 reels in view, wins are formed by matching at least 3 symbols in any position on consecutive reels, beginning at the leftmost reel – culminating in a total of 1,024 ways to win as standard. Symbols available to form these wins begin with the lower paying, smaller gems. Blue, purple, green, yellow and red in colour, matching 3 of a kind of these symbols awards 0.1x bet, with values increasing to 0.3x bet for 5 of a kind matches. At the premium end, we still have gems, but this time they are large squares, filling the entire symbol space. Landing 3 of a kind blue, purple or green large gems will award values between 0.3 and 0.4x bet, whilst landing 5 of a kind awards wins between 1 and 2x bet. Orange and red large gems follow, awarding wins of 0.5 and 1x bet respectively for 3 of a kind, increasing to 2.5 and 5x bet respectively for 5 of a kind. Finally, dynamite wild symbols substitute all symbols except Scatters.

Mega Mine Nudging Ways, as evidenced by the name, is really all about the new Nudging Ways feature – implemented through Mystery Stacks. Mystery Stacks can appear on any reel, and will always nudge to be fully in view, not unlike the xNudge wilds of Nolimit City fame. After nudging into view, they will always reveal the same symbol type.

When Mystery Stacks land, they will display a value between 2 and 5, with this value increasing by +1 for every row it must nudge to land fully in view, up to a maximum of 8. When nudges have finished, the number displayed is the amount of the respective symbol the Mystery Stack will reveal. As Mystery Stacks can appear on any reel, they offer the potential of 32,768 ways to win.

Mystery Stacks may also reveal Scatter symbols, of which at least 2 are required to trigger Mega Free Spins – which is good news as 2 is the minimum Stack value, meaning there’s no ‘tease’ as such on this release. Landing 2 Scatter symbols triggers 6 free spins, with an additional +1 free spins awarded for every Scatter beyond 2 that triggers the feature. When we move into free spins, the action takes place underground, with crystals and tracks to the side of the reels.

Players in appropriate regions can avail of the Feature Buy option to speed things up. For a cost of 70x bet, players are guaranteed Mega Free Spins through at least one Mystery Stack, although additional stacks may land for extra free spins.

During the Feature Buy, RTP increases slightly to 97.0%.

The maximum win available is 50,000x bet. If the sum of all wins exceeds 50,000x, the player is awarded 50,000x bet. If the total win in free spins reaches 50,000x, the free spins end and 50,000x bet is won.

First Impression

Much like most other releases within the Relax catalogue, Mega Mine Nudging Ways seems deceptively simply – but don’t let first impressions fool you. We’ve seen too many times before just how potent these releases can be, which makes their simplicity even more impressive. With this release, there’s really only one feature on offer, however when considering that we’re working with ‘ways to win’ rather than fixed pay lines, and that Mystery Stacks can land on all reels, nudging into place, it becomes a lot clearer how this release is capable of producing wins up to 50,000x bet in size.

Considering this, let’s remember this is also before we examine that during free spins, our Mystery Stacks can reveal wild symbols – further elevating what is already an impressive feature.
