If there's one mechanic that we see time and time again, it's the ‘book' mechanic.

Nearly every studio has tried their hand at a book game; that is, a game where special symbols can expand and pay anywhere on the reels.

Now, Push Gaming are getting in on the action, combining their flagship mechanics and features with the classic allure of the book game to bring us Big Bam-Book.

We sat down with Jack Marshall, Junior Game Producer at Push Gaming, to ask him some questions about this release.

Chloe: Hi Jack! Can you talk us through the features and mechanics in Big Bam-Book

Jack: The development team have worked tirelessly to ensure Big Bam-Book pays homage to classic mechanics that have resonated so well in Push Gaming’s previous animal-themed titles!

Players are in for a treat with a host of features and mechanics that add thrilling elements to both base gameplay and free spins!

Landing three or more Mystery Bamboo symbols triggers the Mystery Bamboo Expansion, revealing matching pay symbols or wilds which are available to players in both game modes.

Mystery Bamboo symbols may also convert into Golden Mystery Bamboo symbols which unveil instant prizes worth up to 100x each. As for the base game, the coveted symbols have the potential to reveal scatters once per reel.

As for Big Bam-Book’s free spins, this is triggered by landing three or more Scatter symbols during the Base Game or via the Base Golden Mystery Bamboo feature. The number of Scatters determines the number of free spins granted and the starting position on the multiplier meter.

Landing as many as five scatters awards 15 free spins, with the multiplier meter starting at level 2 (x3). Scatter symbols can continue to land throughout free spins, adding to the meter and continuing to trigger additional levels with as high as x10 multipliers.

One key focus for Push this year has been delivering new iterations of our most beloved content, and following the roaring success of our recent releases, we wanted to ensure Big Bam-Book paid testament to the features that resonated so well with players whilst also finding a way to inject new elements for players to get stuck into.

We’ve implemented the ever-popular mystery symbols in Big-Bam-book but with a twist, in which they fully expand to cover the reels if three or more land. Free Spins also sees the return of the multiplier meter, but this time round offering strengthened multipliers and additional opportunities to trigger the free spins bonus.
