Age of Seth – Q&A with Bullshark Games
13 May 25Mark Bowley

We sat down with Andre Villandberg, CEO of Bullshark Games to talk about their latest release, Age of Seth. Known for their bold storytelling and immersive design, Bullshark’s newest title dives deep into myth, mystery, and strategic gameplay. Andre gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, the challenges of development, and what players can expect as they step into the ancient world of Age of Seth.
Mark: Andre, welcome! For those new to Bullshark Games, can you give us a quick intro to the studio and what sets you apart from other slot developers?
Thanks for having me! Bullshark Games is a small but passionate studio made up of genuine slot players. We’re not just building games to fill a catalogue, we’re building games that we want to play as slot enthusiasts.
That means bold mechanics, unexpected twists, and big win potential. We like to experiment, whether that means trying out new mechanics, coming up with quirky themes, or adding features you might not expect to see in certain types of games. Ultimately though, we’ll only ever put out a game if it our adrenaline going, if not it’ll never see the light of day!

Age of Seth base game
Mark: Your latest release, Age of Seth, dives into ancient Egyptian mythology. Why choose Seth, and how did his character shape the gameplay?
We wanted to tap into the darker, more chaotic side of Egyptian mythology. Seth is the god of chaos, storms, and unpredictability, which felt like a perfect match for a high-volatility slot.
We translated this into gameplay by making every spin feel unpredictable, with big potential hits even when you’re not in the bonus. The symbol collection mechanic builds tension, and the Big Seth Wild can completely flip a session on its head, reflecting Seth’s chaotic nature.
Mark: Let’s talk features. Age of Seth includes a symbol collection mechanic and four Bonus Buy options. What kind of player experience were you aiming for here?
We wanted to create a game that feels constantly engaging. The symbol collection builds anticipation, giving players something to aim for on every spin, while the four Bonus Buy options let you choose your risk level.
Whether you want to grind it out for a long session or go straight for the high-stakes, high-risk bonuses, there’s an option for everyone. We firmly believe in giving players more control over their experience.

Age of Seth Free Spins
Mark: Visually, Age of Seth feels quite different from some of your other titles (such as Coop Clash). How do you decide on the art direction for each game?
We let the theme and mechanics guide the art direction. Coop Clash is light, fun, and a bit silly, so a cartoon style made sense. But Age of Seth needed to feel dark, intense, and mysterious, which called for a moody, atmospheric design.
We want each game to feel like a unique world, so players are excited to see what’s coming next, both in terms of gameplay and visuals.
Mark: You’re quite open about volatility and math models, a breath of fresh air in the industry. How volatile is Age of Seth, and why did you choose that volatility level?
Age of Seth is an extremely volatile game, and that’s by design. We wanted to capture that “anything can happen” feeling, where a single spin can change the whole session.
It’s not for the faint of heart, but if you like big swings and massive potential wins, this one’s for you. It’s a slot that can punish or reward you in a heartbeat, just like the chaotic god it’s based on.
Mark: The slot scene is full of Egyptian games. What would you say makes Age of Seth stand out from the crowd?
A lot of Egyptian slots focus on pharaohs and tombs, but we wanted to do something different. Seth brings a darker, edgier vibe that’s less explored.
We also put a lot of thought into symbol collection, progression, and high volatility, making the game feel more like a wild ride than a predictable grind. It’s a game that pushes your patience but rewards persistence in a way that’s unique.
Mark: What has the player reaction been like so far? Any particular feedback that’s stood out?
So far, the feedback has been really positive. Players seem to love the high volatility and the rush of those near misses. We’ve already seen a few big hits posted online, including some massive multipliers that even caught us by surprise.
What really stands out is how much players appreciate the tension and unpredictability. I’ve had a few rollercoaster sessions myself, where I went from 100 to 800, then down to 60, only to hit a 1,200x and end up way ahead. That’s exactly the kind of wild, unpredictable experience we were hoping to create.
Mark: Finally, what’s next for Bullshark Games? Any sneak peeks you can share?
We’ve got some really exciting stuff coming in the second half of the year. Expect new mechanics, bold themes, and a few non-traditional slot formats. We’re not just looking to repeat what’s worked before, we want to keep pushing boundaries.
In July, we’ve got two releases that I’m especially excited about. Both have really interesting math models that have turned out even better than we hoped, so I can’t wait to see how players react.
And of course, we’re always looking for ways to surprise players and shake up the usual slot experience. So, stay tuned, you haven’t seen anything yet.
