2025 Community Award Winners

It's nearing the end of December, and you know what that means!

Yes, that may involve Christmas festivities, Mariah Carey on the radio non-stop, and one too many glasses of Bucks Fizz, but it's also the time of year when awards season is in full swing as we wrap up another successful year in the iGaming industry.

While some awards are chosen by panels of judges, we at Hideous Slots give the power to the people and let your voice – the players – be heard. 

Each year, like many other affiliate websites, we asked our community to share their thoughts and vote on their best games and studios of 2025, giving credit where it's due and celebrating the reel highlights of the past year. 

And the votes are finally in. 

Previous Results

2025 marks the fifth year of opening up the vote to our community, and we've had some corkers in the past!

Our first year of community awards – 2022 – saw Big Bamboo from Push Gaming win Slot of the Year.

The following year, Print Studios snatched away the crown, taking both Slot of the Year with Holy Hand Grenade and Studio of the Year.

And finally, 2024 was our most varied year yet, with a different slot/provider winning every category.

Ancient Tumble from Relax Gaming won Slot of the Year and Pragmatic Play took home the Studio of the Year award for the first time (but perhaps not the last).

Last year was also the first year we introduced additional categories; Hacksaw Gaming won Most Innovative Studio and Nolimit City definitely didn't drop the soap as San Quentin 2: Death Row won Slot Sequel of the Year – a game that scored a rare 10/10 from us. 

So, it's really anyone's guess on which game or developer could win any of our five categories this time around!

2025 Community Award Categories

The community award categories are the same as last year, with one added extra: 

• Slot of the Year 2025
• Slot Sequel of the Year 2025
• Studio of the Year 2025
• Most Innovative Studio of the Year 2025
• Best Newcomer 2025

These categories give us real insights into our community's heads and get a sense of what the tops (and flops) of this year were, outside of our own opinions. 

2025 Results

After an intense two weeks, our community – combined with Fruity Slots community members – have officially had their say, and we're proud to announce that the following winners have been crowned: 

• Slot of the Year 2025 – Le Cowboy from Hacksaw Gaming (10.20% of votes)
• Studio of the Year 2025 – Nolimit City (18.80% of votes)
• Slot Sequel of the Year 2025 – Holy Hand Grenade 2 from Print Studios (35.40% of votes)
• Most Innovative Studio 2025 – Print Studios (20.80% of votes)
• Best Newcomer 2025 – Shady Lady (80.20% of votes)

We'd like to extend a special kudos to all the studios that were nominated and produced games this year – for providing us with hours of entertainment.
