On this occasion, we’re going back to the 2020 release from the team, Euphoria, to add Big Time Gaming‘s popular Megaways mechanic, in Euphoria Megaways. Visually, nothing has changed too much since the original. We’re in the middle of a nebula in space, with purple and pink stars and dust clouds floating in the background. Aside from this slight change in landscape, everything else remains the same, from symbols to reels. There’s nothing really to say anything should have been changed – the Megaways mechanic is an addition to keep things interesting for players, but I wouldn’t consider it a sequel as such. In any case, things are familiar but nice, with the same trippy soundtrack to tie it all together.

Taking place across 6 reels, wins are formed on Euphoria Megaways by matching at least 2 or 3 symbols on adjacent reels, beginning with the leftmost reel. Each reel can hold up to 7 symbols, producing up to 117,649 ways to win. Symbols available begin with non premiums, with 9s, 10s, Js, Qs, Ks, and As, awarding wins between 0.10 and 0.20x bet for 3 of a kind, increasing to values between 0.40 and 1.25x bet for 6 of a kind wins. At the premium end we have four gems, beginning with green, purple, and blue. Land 3 of a kind of any gem to see wins between 0.25 and 0.50x bet, increasing to win values between 2 and 5x bet for 6 of a kind matches. The diamond is the highest paying symbol, but also the only to pay for 2 of a kind. Land 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 of a kind diamonds to see wins of 0.50, 1, 5, 10, or 50x bet, respectively. Finally, Wilds substitute for all symbols except Bonus symbols, landing on reels 2-5 only.

There are a few features to cover in the base game of Euphoria Megaways, beginning with cascades. On every spin, all symbols involved in a win will be removed from the reels. All remaining symbols will then drop to the bottommost available position on their respective reels, with new symbols dropping in from above to fill any remaining gaps. Cascades continue until no more wins are formed.

Next up are Mystery Symbols, which can land randomly on any spin. When Mystery Symbols land in view, they will reveal any regular paid symbol at random, with all Mystery Symbols revealing the same symbol.

It is also possible that Max Megaways will be triggered randomly in the base game. When this occurs, all reels will be forced to their maximum size, producing 117,649 ways to win.

One of the most exciting aspects within the base game are Star Symbols. When a Star Symbol lands in view it will have a multiplier of x2 or x3, which will then be applied to the Star Symbol win multiplier above the reel it lands upon. It is possible to activate the Star Symbol above every reel as high as x3. When more than one multiplier is active, their values are multiplied together, making it possible to multiply wins by as much as x729. Stars are also Wild, and substitute for all symbols except Bonus symbols.

Finally, it is possible to trigger a Euphoria Spin, in which 2 or more Star Symbols are guaranteed to land. It is also possible to land this in sync with Max Megaways. When this happens, all reels will reach their maximum height of 117,649 ways to win, with 2+ Star Symbols guaranteed.

There isn’t a great deal to cover in Euphoria Megaways that hasn’t already been covered in the past. Truthfully, changes between these releases are few and far between, however the Megaways mechanic has offered an upgrade that allows this release to stand in its own right. Free Spins are where things are particularly exciting, especially as players watch their win multipliers grow. With the potential to activate a x3 multiplier on each reel along with additional spins, and multiple multipliers multiplying together, players can see wins multiplied by up to x729. When the right combinations hit, win potential is possible up to 10,000x bet – only half the potential of its predecessor, but still nothing to turn your nose up at.
