A Big Year in Slots
With half of 2025 done and dusted, this seems like the perfect opportunity to look at what the rest of the year has in store for us when it comes to providers and their new releases.
To make life simple, the review team at Hideous Slots have dived into their bag of tricks to see what’s up with some of the best slots we’ll see over the summer of 2025.
Don’t make plans or book any holidays just yet – the most popular game providers are lining up to bombard sites with new releases.
The team has compiled five online slots that are destined to make a huge impact among UK players in the coming months. Let's dive in…
1. Holy Hand Grenade 2: Dream Drop
‘O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade…’ The most sacred of holy relics and slots returns.
Prepare yourself for another medieval adventure with the talented Print Studios, as this studio cash in on the success of the first Holy Hand Grenade – our Slot of the Year winner in 2023 – to bring us its long awaited sibling.
With an impressive catalogue that features titles like Chomplings, Big Stack Lumberjack, and Dreadworks, there's little Print Studios create that players don't rush to play, but this is probably their most anticipated title to date.
Holy Hand Grenade 2: Dream Drop is set to hit our screens in August, but it's shrouded in mystery, so we're not quite sure yet as to what it will have to offer.
So, for now, as we wait for the second coming, we just have to wonder if Print Studios can top the success that they had with this one the first time around, and make do with the original.
2. Pirots 4 – ELK Studios
This summer will see the Pirots crew begin a new adventure as ELK Studios prepares to launch the next episode of this saga with Pirots 4, although the studio are playing their cards close to their chest with this one.
ELK Studios went into uncharted territory with the Pirots series, and it became clear more or less immediately that they managed to strike gold with these loveable feathered rogues.
Giving players brilliant yet strange mechanics – which were even recreated by other popular studios – Pirots ripped up the rulebook and delivered something new, which only helped this series' appeal.
Although we don't know much so far, we believe that you can expect more of the above: the usual sharp graphics, exciting bonuses, and, like the other games in the series, impressive win potential.
It’s fair to say that fans will want big things from Pirots 4, and I guess we’ll all find out soon enough if it will meet our expectations.
3. Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter
Pragmatic Play is hoping to sweeten the deal with players in July when they unleash Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter to the world.
Created with a candy theme so sickly sweet it can strike fear into the hearts of all dental hygiene practitioners everywhere, this release is sure to capture the attention of players – particularly those impressed by Gates of Olympus Super Scatter.
The Sweet Bonanza Series has been built carefully by Pragmatic Play, and players are sure to find plenty more dynamic sugar-coated landscapes and thrilling features – with incredible winning potential, if other releases like this have been anything to go by.
4. Tanked 3: First Blood 2
Next up we have Tanked 3: First Blood 2. As one Nolimit City fan observed, ‘Tanked 3 is so good, it skipped Tanked 2’.
It’s going to be a long wait for the next instalment of the Tanked series, which comes hot on the heels of Pirots 4, sharing the same core mechanics.
It’ll be fun to see how Nolimit approach this release – particularly after skipping Tanked 2. Will they better the features found on the Tanked? Probably, because this is Nolimit City we're talking about.
No doubt we can expect more of the same with this eagerly anticipated release from the provider responsible for online slots like Highway to Hell, Home of the Brave, and Fire in the Hole 3 – we can’t wait to see what shock and awe tactics they use this time.
5. Wild Swarm Triple Hive – Push Gaming
Finally, the end of July will see the release of Wild Swarm Triple Hive from Push Gaming.
What’s the word from the hive? Well, following the success of the previous slots, Push has gone all in on this latest addition to their series that has players a-buzz with excitement.
Wild Swarm and Wild Swarm 2 were titles that may look charming, but packed a real punch underneath the surface, with rewarding features and potent maths models.
No doubt this next instalment will give us more of the same as we trip through the wood – it's definitely going to bee one of the most exciting releases of the summer.
