Overview
Thunderkick are a Swedish Game Studio who, by their own admission, are attempting to “conquer the world through state of the art graphics and great slot ideas”. Thunderkick started in 2012 in a small studio in Stockholm, with a couple of guys who decided to do something a bit different. They state that “in an industry ruled by giants, we went in another direction and swore to always stay fun and give a damn” Their story is about trying to make it through bold ideas, colour, and loads of fun. We love that. Thunderkick now have over 50 people working for them, but they remain true to their mantra – to care about customers, people and the games they produce. They choose to stay independent, meaning all game and platform development is done in-house. You can follow Thunderkick on Twitter for more info.
“Our strategy has stayed the same since day one: to create kick-ass content that leaves no one untouched. Sure, we have made some bold decisions and failed a few times over the years, but we refuse to let assumed “truths” and foregone conclusions dictate what we do. As long as we stay true to ourselves, we are living our dream.”
Popular Games
It's hard to pin down which Thunderkick slot is the most well know, as so many are revered by gamblers around the world. Roasty McFry and The Flame Busters has become a classic amongst gamblers, styled like a 90s video game, with Thunderkick even going as far as giving the graphics a pixelated feel. The sounds of the slot bring you back to the early 90s when you came home from school to play on your Nintendo Game Boy, although Flame Busters has some excellent wins built in, paying 243 ways alongside the already epic bonus.
Another fan favourite from Thunderkick is Pink Elephants, which has now been redesigned with Pink Elephants 2. Pink Elephants is still a highly requested slot in our streams, although it did lose some limelight to its' younger, flashier equivalent. Both slots work in mainly the same way, by collecting elephant orbs in the bonus to transform symbols into another. In the original, all symbols are transformed into the top, elephant symbol as levels progress, and in the newer, symbols transform into one above as levels progress. Both games pack a serious punch and have amazing potential as you'll see down below.
Sword of Khans takes the third place on this popular list. Arguably the new Book of Dead, Sword of Khans leapt onto our screens in late 2019, and none of us have looked back since. A classic “book” game, but one we cant get enough of, Sword of Khans offers an expanding symbol in the bonus, and the opportunity for many retriggers. During the bonus, only two scatters are needed for a retrigger, during which a random number of spins and a different random symbol is selected as an expander. We love to see a book game with the potential to unlock every symbol – it is so much more exciting than the though of just retriggering for more free spins.
Bringing up the rear on our Top 4 Thunderkicks, but by no means lacking imagination or style, is Wild Heist at Peacock Manor. Wild Heist has everything we love, with base game features, a spicy bonus, and the potential to win massive amounts of money. Added to that is the coveted “Gold Card” which offers a boosted bonus, and something for us to hunt for. We love Wild Heist because of the interaction it provides for us in our streams, with the ability to choose your cards in the bonus.
Other popular Thunderkick slots include:
- Fruit Warp
- Riders of the Storm
- Esqueleto Explosivo 1 & 2
- Midas Golden Touch
- Carnival Queen
- Birds on a Wire
- The Falcon Huntress
- The Beat The Beast series (Kraken's Lair, Mighty Sphinx, Cerberus' Inferno, Quetzalcoatl's Trial, Griffin's Gold)
Thunderkick Styles
Thunderkick don't follow a particular style with slots, which is part of what makes them such an interesting provider. We never know what we're going to get next, but we usually know it will be fun and have great potential. Thunderkick don't have Megaways slots, but many of their games can pay anywhere from 243 to 4,096 ways, including Flame Busters and Pink Elephants. Esqueleto Explosivo, Pink Elephants and Beat The Beast are all Thunderkick slots which have had follow-ups released, and although not usually vastly different in style, fans around the world continue to play and enjoy them. Thunderkick like to do things a bit differently to everyone else, and although there is no sense in being different just for the sake of it, Thunderkick continue to provide entertainment for us through their style and innovation, so we hope they won't change anytime soon.
Our Biggest Thunderkick win
Our biggest Thunderkick win so far has been on Pink Elephants, coming in at 852x on a £3 stake. This came not long after Pink Elephants 2 was released, in June 2020, during our Battle of the Beasts stream. We were pitting the original against the new release to see which would bonus first, and although Pink Elephants 2 did bonus first, we stayed on to give Pink Elephants a chance, and boy were we glad. We hit this monster win having 3 of 4 elephant stages unlocked, showing it is possible to hit those huge wins without unlocking every stage. 13 elephants across all 6 reels paid us £2160 alone – what a one spin wonder! You can check it out, at time stamp 29:49, in our Big Wins of June video.
