Hacksaw Gaming have become known for their dark and extremely volatile releases over the years, but today we’re taking on something a little bit different as we enjoy a calm experience alongside Frank the friendly sloth, on his farm – in Frank’s Farm. In a similar, friendly style to Hacksaw‘s King Carrot, players can visit Frank’s Farm and earn passive income alongside big rewards in one of two bonus features on offer. With RTP options up to 96.31%, this medium (3/5) volatility release can produce wins up to 5,000x bet.
Visually, everything is bright and colourful in Frank’s Farm. There’s an almost abstract feel to the background, with cubes of paving sitting alongside bright green grass. A farm house is in view to the left with Frank the sloth standing in front of it, and a tractor to the right of the reels. Everything else is more or less what you’d expect, with cows, pigs, chickens, and the less expected bumblebees and goldfish. Audios are laid back to suit Frank, with a southern twang to help tie it all together. All in all, a pretty picture.
Frank’s Farm Base Features
Taking place on a 6×6 grid, wins are formed on Frank’s Farm by landing at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the reels. Symbols pay for 8, 9, 10, 11-12, 13-14, or 15+, and begin with non premiums, with 10s, Js, Qs, Ks, and As, awarding wins between 0.10 and 0.30x bet for 8 in view, increasing to values between 15 and 25x bet for 15 or more in view. At the premium end, we have bumblebees, goldfish, chickens, pigs, and cows, awarding wins between 0.50 and 1x bet for 8 in view, increasing to values between 37.50 and 75x bet for 15 or more in view.
There’s only a couple of things driving Frank’s Farm forward in the base game, beginning with cascades, or whatever you know them as. On every spin, all winning symbols will be removed from the reels. All remaining symbols will then drop down to the bottommost available position on their respective reels, with new symbols dropping in from above to fill any remaining gaps. This continues until no more wins are formed.
Next are the Market Multiplier symbols. When a Market Multiplier symbol lands on the grid, it will reveal a multiplier value of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, or 10x. Any winning combination of symbols will have the Market Multiplier applied to its win before being removed from the reels. The Market Multiplier will be applied to every winning combination, and will not be removed from the reels with winning symbols. If more than one Market Multiplier symbol is present, their values will be multiplied together before being applied to any wins.
Frank’s Farm Bonus
Land 3 FS Scatter symbols in the base game to be awarded the Order Rush bonus game, with 10 free spins. During the feature, every FS Scatter symbol that lands will award an additional +1 spins.
During free spins, you will be given orders to complete. An order consists of 1-3 symbol sets, with 10-24 symbols required in each set. The aim is to collect the required number of symbols to complete a set. Once all sets have been collected, the order is complete and a new order will appear. The first order will always have one order set, with the number of sets increasing by 1 every three orders, up to a maximum of 3. Each new order will be more difficult than the last.
After completing an order, the minimum value of Market Multiplier symbols that land will increase by +1x.
Land 4 FS Scatter symbols in the base game to be awarded the Diner Dash bonus game, with 10 free spins. During the feature, every FS Scatter symbol that lands will award an additional +1 spins.
During free spins, it is possible to land the special Diner symbol. Once a Diner symbol has landed, it will be sticky for the duration of spins. All wins awarded whilst a Diner symbol is on the grid will be collected by any Diner symbols in view. It is possible to land more than one Diner symbol, and the value stored in each will be displayed next to the grid. At the end of every spin, all Diner symbol values will be awarded.
It is not possible to upgrade from the Order Rush bonus game to the Diner Dash bonus game.
Players in appropriate regions can skip straight to the action with the following Buy Bonus options:
- Bonus Hunt Feature Spins (3x more likely to trigger a bonus) – 2x bet (96.28% RTP)
- Order Rush Bonus Game – 100x bet (96.39% RTP)
- Diner Dash Bonus Game – 200x bet (96.34% RTP)
All Buy Bonus options have a volatility level of medium. The above RTP values are based upon the overall RTP setting of 96.31%.
The maximum win available in Frank’s Farm is 5,000x bet. If the sum of a single game round exceeds this, the game round will end and 5,000x bet will be awarded.
First Impression
It seems like Hacksaw Gaming have one of two modes – when you think about their catalogue it feels like it’s easy to draw a line down the middle, with releases like Wanted Dead or a Wild, Undead Fortune, Hand of Anubis, and Chaos Crew on one side, and releases like King Carrot, Joker Bombs, Pug Life, and now Frank’s Farm, on the other. There’s nothing to say one side is better than the other, but it’s interesting to see the variety on offer.
Frank’s Farm is a simple release, with nothing too difficult to wrap your head around. Market Multiplier symbols act as the main feature in the base game, producing multiplier values up to 10x. In Free Spins, things kick up a notch with the potential to increase minimum Market Multipliers for completing orders, or the potential to be awarded lucrative Diner symbol values at the end of every spin, not unlike 4ThePlayer‘s 9k Kong in Vegas, depending on the bonus triggered. When the right combinations land, wins are possible up to 5,000x bet.
Finally, maths is rated only as medium (3/5) volatility, with RTP options up to 96.31%, although as always it’s worth checking this. If you’re a fan of Hacksaw Gaming and are looking for a less volatile, casual experience, Frank’s Farm could be for you – there’s plenty on offer to keep you interested.
