It’s clear skies in this release today, as we find ourselves looking at the front of a red-brick factory. Delivery trucks, tall buildings in the background and some bright green trees all make this location seem normal, but then you get the quirkiness upon closer inspection, at which point you also see more evidence that Relax Gaming are some of the best when it comes to artwork.

Taking place across 6 reels, wins are formed on Firewins Factory by matching at least 3 symbols on adjacent reels, beginning with the leftmost reel. Winning symbols must land on the same row, one row above or one row below the reel before, producing a total of 950 connected ways to win.

Symbols available begin with non premiums, with blue diamonds, green clubs, pink spades and red hearts, each encased in a wooden crate of the same colour and each awarding wins between 0.10 and 0.40x bet for matches between 3 and 6 of a kind.

At the premium end we find a variety of workers holding tools and matching (mostly) in colour to their non premium counterpart. Despite there being 4 premiums, they are split into two groups; blue and green creatures, which award wins between 0.20 and 0.50x bet for matches between 3 and 6 of a kind, and orange and red creatures, which award wins between 0.30 and 0.60x bet, again for matches between 3 and 6 of a kind.

The boss is the highest paying symbol whilst also having the largest moustache of any slot character ever. Land between 3 and 6 of a kind of this symbol to see wins between 0.30 and 1x bet. Winning Symbols are Removed From the Reels With Cascades

Alright, so up first in Firewins Factory are cascades.

On every spin, all symbols involved in a winning combination will be removed from the reels, with all remaining symbols dropping down to the bottommost available position on their respective reels.

New symbols will then drop in from above to fill the remaining gaps, with cascades continuing until no new wins are formed.

Explosive Wilds

The flagship feature in this release is the Explosive Wilds feature.

These are Wild symbols that land on the reels in the shape of fireworks. When they land and are part of a winning combination, they will spread Wilds to other symbols.

There are 5 kinds of Explosive Wild that can land, each with their own pattern:

• Cross Wild – spreads Wilds above, below, left and right.
• Diagonal Cross Wild – spreads Wilds top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right.
• Vertical Wild – spreads Wilds above and below.
• Horizontal Wild – spreads Wilds left and right.
• Random Spread Wild – spreads between 3 and 8 Wilds to random positions.

Additionally, it is possible that a super explosion can happen, which makes Wilds spread further.

Explosive Wilds Spread Wild Symbols When Part of a Winning Combination

Win Multiplier

Each time an Explosive Wild is part of a winning combination, the win multiplier will increase by +1.

This multiplier will continue to increase for each new winning combination involving an Explosive Wild, and will then be applied to all subsequent winning combinations on the reels.

Second Chance

If there are unused Explosive Wilds on the reels and no more wins are possible, a worker character may activate the Wilds.

This causes an explosion to all adjacent symbols, creating room for new symbols to drop in and form new winning combinations.

First Impression

There’s quite a lot happening in this one, but it all boils down to one feature – Explosive Wilds. Fans of this studio will recognise this approach from the likes of Wild Yield, except Firewins Factory does feel more palatable than Wild Yield, especially for those not wanting to spend the money on additional spins.

In the base game, it’s Explosive Wilds working hand in hand with the increasing win multiplier and potential for super explosions that helps to keep things ticking over until Free Spins land – although an Ante Bet option could have been a nice touch here.

In Free Spins, things are much the same except that win multipliers do not reset between spins, adding a nice progressive element to an already fairly exciting slot. The potential to land up to 15 spins and the ease with which additional spins are triggered is just another example of how this bonus can feel like it holds more value than it’s 65-130x bet cost. When the right combinations occur, wins are possible up to 20,000x bet.
