When you were younger did you ever dream of growing up and being an adult? As children with bedtimes we deemed too early and homework that we didn’t want to do, most of us spent a pretty long time dreaming of what it would be like to grow up and not have anyone telling us what to do. It sounded like the best thing in the world. Well, until it actually happened.
You don’t end up saving patients from literal bazookas trapped in their stomach like Meredith Grey. You don’t end up in an office filled with pranks and fun, albeit with an annoying boss like Michael Scott. And you don’t end up scouring for fingerprints and saving the day like Gil Grissom. No, most of us grow up and find out the difficult truth – work is boring most of the time, and involves a lot more responsibility than we thought possible.
Enter Nolimit City. They’re here today to give us their take on the highs and lows (but mostly lows) of office life as they invite us to RatRace – less of an organisation and more of a family, or so they say. As we leave behind the brazen animals of Nolimit City‘s Roadkill, we have an opportunity to get stuck into Excel sheets, powdered coffee and a cubicle without a window in sight – in Nine To Five.
With RTP options available up to 96.03% (96.45% feature buy), this highly (8) volatile release can produce wins up to 9,217x bet.

Nine To Five Base Game
Artwork is incredibly fun in Nine To Five and immediately makes you think of the nineties. Depending on your age and viewing preference in these years, the view you get and style of art can remind you of anything from Beavis and Butthead to Saved by the Bell – the latter for me. We’re at a desk, looking at a grubby computer screen with old school graphics on top – including vintage Windows 95 icons and windows.
To the sides of our computer screen we can see a variety of post-it notes and reminders, and some images of holiday destinations – probably stuck up so this poor sucker has something to get him through the year. The best part about Nine To Five is the use of sound effects and music – something this team have always done well.
“You’re playing Nine To Five by Nolimit City” greets you as soon as you load the game, along with various catchphrases about being an important customer, having thousands of people in front of you in the queue and the fact that calls may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes – or extortion. It’s all finished off with elevator style music, buzzing of phones and other office noises that you’d expect to hear. All in all, unique, and definitely fun.

Nine To Five Offers Players a Minimum of 1,024 Ways to Win
Nine To Five Base Features
Taking place across 5 reels, wins are formed on Nine To Five by matching at least 3 symbols on adjacent reels, beginning with the leftmost reel. Each reel holds 4 symbols, producing 1,024 ways to win – although this can increase with xWays, which we’ll get to soon.
Symbols available begin with non premiums, with broken fax machines, old packed lunches, coffee mugs and staplers. Land 3 of a kind of any non premium to see wins between 0.20 and 0.30x bet, increasing to values between 0.60 and 0.80x bet for 5 of a kind matches.
At the premium end we meet 3 workers and a female manager. Land 3 of a kind of any premium to see wins between 0.40 and 0.75x bet, increasing to values between 1.25 and 4x bet for 5 of a kind matches. Finally, there are a few different Wild symbols – all of which substitute for all symbols except Scatters.

Nine To Five Middle Management Spins
xBet
Alright, there are a few things to cover in Nine To Five, but we’ll start with xBet.
By betting an additional 10%, the last reel will be blocked with increased chances of landing a Scatter symbol. This increases the chances of entering either bonus round by more than two times.
When xBet is activated RTP increases from 96.03% to 96.10%.
Wilds
Next up are Wild symbols, which can land on reels 2-5.
When a Wild symbol lands on the reels it can turn into one of two things.
- Green Wild – an active Wild symbol with a random multiplier between x1 and 5.
- Red Wild – a dead symbol that does not substitute or contribute to wins.
xWays
When an xWays symbol lands on the reels it will reveal 2-4 of the same symbol.
If more than one xWays symbol has landed in view they will all reveal the same symbol.
xNudge Wild
Finally, xNudge Wild symbols can land on reels 2-5 and look like filing cabinets.
When an xNudge Wild lands in view it will always nudge to be fully visible. For each nudge it makes to be fully visible, its multiplier will increase by +1.
Once any xNudge Wilds in view cover their respective reels they will nudge an additional 0-9 steps randomly.
If more than one xNudge Wild is in view their multipliers will multiply each other to create a total Nudge multiplier.

xNudge Wild Symbols Always Nudge to Be Fully Visible
Nine To Five Bonus
Scatter symbols can land on reels 2-5.
Landing 3 Scatter symbols to spell “Climb the Corporate” will award 10 Middle Management Spins.
During Middle Management Spins Lawsuit and Layoff symbols can land. If both land in view any Lawsuit symbol will act before any Layoff symbol.
- Lawsuit Symbol – decreases the win multiplier by 1.
- Layoff Symbol – increases the win multiplier by 1.
The win multiplier can never go below x1 or above x9,999.
Landing an Overtime symbol will award an additional +1 spin per symbol, whilst landing 2 or more Overtime symbols in one spin will also upgrade the bonus to Ivory Tower Spins.
At the end of the bonus round the active win multiplier is applied to the total win.
Super Bonus
Landing 4 Scatter symbols to spell “Climb the Corporate Ladder” will award 12 Ivory Tower Spins. Alternatively, landing 2 Overtime symbols in one spin will upgrade Middle Management Spins to Ivory Tower Spins.
During this feature Lawsuit and Layoff symbols cannot land. Instead, Tech Layoff and CtrI+Alt+Del symbols can land. If both land in view any CtrI+Alt+Del symbol will act before any Tech Layoff symbol.
- Tech Layoff Symbol – adds a win multiplier and then the value of the next Tech Layoff multiplier is doubled.
- CtrI+Alt+Del Symbol – divides the value of the next Tech Layoff multiplier by 4 (rounded down to nearest integer).
The initial and minimum value of these multipliers is x1, the maximum value is x9,999.
Landing an Overtime symbol will award an additional +1 spin per symbol.
At the end of the bonus round the active win multiplier is applied to the total win.

Players should be aware that buying the God Mode Nolimit Bonus does not award any spins. Instead it is simply a gamble – either the maximum win will land or 0x will be awarded.
The maximum win available in Nine To Five is 9,217x bet (Big Win Not Found). If the sum of a single game round exceeds this, the game round will end and 9,217x bet will be awarded.

Nine To Five God Mode – Big Win Not Found
First Impression
That was a fun one! After the (almost unnecessary) complicated nature of Roadkill, Nine To Five felt like a breath of fresh air – simple air. Still, there’s plenty happening here to keep players on their toes.
In the base game things are pretty straightforward. xWays symbols and xNudge symbols land in view to assist in forming wins, along with Wild symbols that may or may not activate. Easy.
It’s the bonus modes where things are kicked up a notch. With a win multiplier building throughout spins and awarded at the very end, there are plenty of opportunities to see potent results – especially with the multiplier capable of reaching heights of x9,999.
In Ivory Tower Spins the doubling multiplier sees things climb with a rapid pace, but that dream can also be ripped away from you pretty quickly with CtrI+Alt+Del symbols – a bit like Raptor DoubleMax if it wanted to upset you. In any case, when the right combinations land wins are possible up to 9,217x bet.
It wouldn’t be much of a summary if we didn’t mention the elephant in the room; paying 1,370x bet to either land the maximum win or land nothing. Well, if you’re brave enough to do it, who am I to stop you? My only issue with this option is that they don’t advertise what exactly this is without reading the information, and I suspect we’re going to see a lot of players buying God Mode thinking it’s some sort of super spins feature.
Finally, maths is highly (8) volatile and RTP options are available up to 96.03% (96.45% feature buy), so as always it’s worth checking this. If you’re looking for something nostalgic with a nice win potential and interesting features, Nine To Five is a great option – even if you won’t indulge in all the extras.
