Mythology has always been a popular place for slot providers to draw inspiration from. Whether we’re dealing with Greek mythology in the likes of Titan Strike from Relax Gaming or Norse mythology in releases like Fury of Odin Megaways from Pragmatic Play, using these characters can often create an enticing environment as we let our imaginations run wild.
It’s the latter we return to today, courtesy of 4ThePlayer as they opt to focus on Thor. God of thunder and son of Odin, Thor is a force to be reckoned with, able to use the powerful weapon Mjölnir to manipulate thunder and lightning. So today 4ThePlayer give us their interpretation of this impressive being as they leave behind the spooky setting of 3 Lucky Witches to bring us 21 Thor Lightning Ways.
With RTP options available up to 96.0%, this medium (3/5) volatility release is capable of producing wins up to 1,500x bet.

21 Thor Lightning Ways Base Game
We find ourselves in Asgard today, with Thor as our guardian. The background is a really distinctive one, with a huge moon to the right of the sky and a pink and purple sunset visible towards the left. Clouds and auroras roll across the horizon behind tall mountains, whilst a building lit orange from within sits to the right of the reels.
Thor himself stands at the left wielding Mjölnir, dressed in ornate gold, red and purple clothing. He’s not quite as captivating as Chris Hemsworth, but he is true to the historical depictions. The rest of our attention is given to the symbols upon the reels, which bring in plenty of recognisable elements including the Bifröst, beer horns and viking ships. Finally, it’s all finished off with a triumphant soundtrack.

21 Thor Lightning Ways Offers Players 3,125 Ways to Win
21 Thor Lightning Ways Base Features
Taking place across 5 reels, wins are formed on 21 Thor Lightning Ways by matching at least 3 symbols on adjacent reels, beginning with the leftmost reel. Each reel holds 5 symbols, producing a total of 3,125 ways to win. Symbols available begin with non premiums, with 10s, Js, Qs, Ks and As, awarding wins between 0.20 and 0.30x bet for 3 of a kind matches, increasing to values between 0.50 and 0.70x bet for 5 of a kind wins.
In the mid range we have beer horns and axes, awarding wins between 0.40 and 1x bet for matches between 3 and 5 of a kind, whilst at the premium end we have viking ships, the Bifröst, a female character who I assume to be Sif, and Thor. Land 3 of a kind of any premium to see wins between 0.50 and 1x bet, increasing to values between 1.50 and 5x bet for 5 of a kind matches. Finally, Mjölnir Wilds are available and substitute for all symbols except Free Spins Scatters.

Each Win That Occurs Along a Lightning Way Has a Multiplier Attached
Lightning Ways
As the title would suggest, it’s all about the Lightning Ways in this release, which are ways to win that offer multipliers.
On every spin, there is at least 1 active Lightning Way, and each time a win occurs across this Lightning Way the multiplier value of the Lightning Way will be applied to the win.
It would appear that the default active Lightning Way starts from the 3rd symbol on reel 1 and moves straight across to the right, holding a x10 value.
Lightning Strike
Randomly, Lightning Strike can occur at any point during a spin.
When this happens Thor will add random Lightning Ways onto the reels. The added Lightning Ways will each have their own multiplier value between x5 and x100.
Lightning Ways reset ahead of the next spin.

21 Thor Lightning Ways Lightning Strike Feature
21 Thor Lightning Ways Bonus
Land 3 or more Free Spins Scatters to trigger Thunder Free Spins.
- 3 Free Spins Scatters – 15 spins
- 4 Free Spins Scatters – 20 spins
- 5 Free Spins Scatters – 30 spins
During Thunder Free Spins extra Lightning Ways will be present on the reels, and they do not reset between spins. The more Free Spins Scatters in the trigger, the higher the initial Lightning Ways multiplier values will be.
Additionally, every win across a Lightning Way will increase its win multiplier, and Thor can randomly add new Lightning Ways to the reels at any point during the bonus.

During Free Spins Every Win on a Lightning Way Increases Its Multiplier
Buy Feature
Players in appropriate regions can skip straight to the action with the following Buy Feature options:
- Lightning Strike (random Lightning Ways) – 25x bet
- 15 Thunder Free Spins – 50x bet
- 20 Thunder Free Spins – 100x bet
- 30 Thunder Free Spins – 150x bet
RTP does not change when buying any feature.
The maximum win available in 21 Thor Lightning Ways is 1,500x bet. If the sum of a single game round exceeds this, the game round will end and 1,500x bet will be awarded.

21 Thor Lightning Ways Free Spins
First Impression
21 Thor Lightning Ways is a pretty straightforward game really, although interesting graphics and sound effects make it seem like more at first glance. Really the aim is simple – just form winning combinations, and if one of those is across a Lightning Way, see a win multiplier up to x100 applied. That’s it.
In the base game the majority of excitement comes from waiting on Lightning Strike, where Thor will spring into action and add these Lightning Ways and multipliers to the reels. Although this is the only base game feature, our experience in testing was that Free Spins are not entirely uncommon – although the exact statistic is unknown.
When you move into Free Spins things get distinctly more exciting, with Lightning Ways not resetting between spins and multipliers being increased after a win occurs across a Lightning Way. Add on top that Thor can strike additional Lightning Ways onto the reels and you have a feature that can feel quite exciting.
When the right combinations land, wins are possible up to 1,500x bet – not the highest we’ve seen from this team, but a nice win, especially for a beginner. With a name like 4ThePlayer, this has been catered to someone – but we don’t yet know if the decision was based on feedback or intuition.
Thanks to 4ThePlayer‘s SLOT STATS, we also know that after 100 spins the average best win provided is:
- All Players – 37x bet
- 1 in 10 Players – 96x bet
- 1 in 100 Players – 171x bet
- 1 in 1000 Players – 275x bet
Finally, maths is rated medium (3/5) volatility and RTP options are available up to 96.0%, so as always it’s worth checking this. If you’re a hardcore fan of highly volatile releases and huge win potential, 21 Thor Lightning Ways won’t be for you. If you prefer something softer or you’re just starting out on your online gambling journey, this one could suit.
